Flame Scanner Compact Version

KHM 20

Robust Flame Scanner Compact Version for harsh industrial use in intermittent operation.

  • Robust IP 65 housing
  • Easy to install and connect
  • Flame signal analyzable with the KLCcom software

The KHM 20 is a Flame Scanner Compact Version that has been specially developed for harsh industrial use in single burner systems and in particular in conjunction with programmable logic controllers (e.g. PLC). The patented evaluation of the flame signal takes place via the flicker frequency of the radiation of the incoming flame. All types of flames are detected by the automatic sensitivity evaluation. No adjustments are required for commissioning or maintenance.

The KHM 20 only evaluates the flickering of the flame to be monitored; direct light radiation and constant frequencies do not lead to flame detection. Constant light radiation and any constant frequencies do not lead to permanent flame detection. Interfering extraneous light sources, e.g. from fluorescent tubes or low-frequency background radiation from glowing brickwork, are suppressed. Unwanted influences on flame detection can thus be avoided.

The adapter, which serves as the flame monitor's interface to the combustion chamber, can be adapted to specific requirements using optionally available lenses, filters and apertures. An LED as an optical interface makes it possible to read out relevant operating parameters, such as the occurrence of flame modulation, the current switching status, depending on the flame signal or the possible serial number.
